Donovan Segura was appointed Associate Vice-Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Title IX at the University of the South Agricultural Research and Extension Center.

Segura, originally from Crowley, has held positions at Southern including Director of Quality Improvement Plan, Deputy Director of Effectiveness and Institutional Evaluation, and Director of Evaluation / Director of Title III Activities. and assessment / testing coordinator. He is an assistant professor of political science at the university.

He received a BA in Political Science, an MA in Social Sciences, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy Administration, all from Southern.


Dr. Renée Cowan and Dr Evan Smith joined the gynecological oncology team of Women’s hospital.

Cowan recently completed two Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Fellowships in New York City. She received a BA in Biology from Cornell University and her MD as well as a Masters in Public Health from Temple University. She then completed her residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

Smith also recently completed a Memorial Sloan Kettering Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship. The Opelousas native received his bachelor’s degree in biology from LSU and his medical degree from LSU Health-Shreveport. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.

Meghan donelon joined Shore of the Red River as president of the market for its expansion into New Orleans.

She is originally from New Orleans and graduated from LSU. Donelon has financial services experience in major markets, most recently in Dallas, and over a decade in the New Orleans area.

Dr Shaminder Gupta was appointed to Quanta dialysis technologies‘North American Medical Advisory Council.

Gupta is the corporate medical director of Monogram Health, a kidney disease benefit management and care company, and the medical director of the Monogram Kidney Care Clinic. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine and LSU Health-New Orleans.


Christophe LeBato was appointed CEO of MC Bank & Trust.

LeBato started his banking career at AmSouth Bank. In 2011, he joined IberiaBank where he served as head of retail market in New Orleans and head of the bank’s retail banking, overseeing Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.

LeBato received a bachelor’s degree from Spring Hill College. He has been appointed a Certified Fellow in Commercial Investment by the CCIM Institute of Chicago and is a recent graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School through the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
