Elsie Francis Calhoun Boswell, 91, died May 14, 2022. She was born December 26, 1930 in Boyle County, the daughter of the late Frank Taylor and Margaret Elder Calhoun. Elsie graduated from Forkland High School and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching hummingbirds at the feeder and her big dog Jasper. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, James Calvin Boswell; and his brother, Jimmy Calhoun.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kitty (Craig) Bell of Danville, Ayse (Michael) Wise of Knoxville, Tennessee; one son, W. Frank Boswell of Danville; and four grandchildren, Jake Bell, Carly Boswell, Beau Wise and Sam Wise.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Stith’s Funeral Home, Danville, with a service to follow at 12 p.m. Reverend Mark Payton will officiate. Interment will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Frank Boswell, Michael Wise, Beau Wise, Jake Bell, Chester Kavanaugh, Rodney West, Sam Wise and David Shelton.
