92 cases of coronavirus reported last week

There have been 36,831 cases of coronavirus in Wood County, according to a Thursday update from the Ohio Department of Health.

There have been 92 cases in the past seven days, according to a Thursday from the Wood County Health Department.

There have been 70 cases per 100,000 in the past seven days. There have been no hospitalizations in the past seven days. The test positivity rate is 11%. There is an average rate of COVID in the community, according to the health department.

There have been 381 deaths in Wood County since March 2020, according to the Ohio Department of Health. There have been 1,156 hospitalizations since March 2020.

Statewide, there are 3,197,300 confirmed cases and 40,249 confirmed deaths.

BG transport committee meets

The Transit Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m. in Council Chambers on the third floor of the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.

The purpose of the meeting will be to review marketing, tax and operating reports for Q3 CY 2022, as well as other transit operating and subsidy topics.

Immediately following the Transit Advisory Committee meeting, the Vehicle Accident Prevention Sub-Committee meeting will take place.

This meeting is open to the public.

Veterans Day memorial service scheduled for Nov. 12

A Veterans Day Memorial Service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Plaza at the Wood County Courthouse on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m.

Evie Van Vohris will sing the national anthem; remarks will be made by Joe Fawcett, Director of Public Services at Bowling Green and veteran of the Global War on Terror; the 14th OVI Civil War Re-enactors will provide a rifle salute; and “Taps” will be presented by Ryan Holley.

Demo Day: Thank You

Come to the Wood County Museum Log Cabin, 13660 County Home Road, to meet re-enactors on the grounds of the Wood County Museum on November 12 from noon to 4 p.m.

This is a free family event. See what a traditional Thanksgiving meal was like, which will include waterfowl, fish, three sisters (corn, squash, beans), and cornbread. The cabin will be open to visitors and children will have the opportunity to make a corncob doll.

The demo day is free. The museum will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with regular admission, $7 for adults, with discounts for seniors, veterans and children. The museum is handicapped accessible with an elevator, disabled toilets, and ample parking in the visitor parking lot as well as at the rear of the museum (south side). The south entrance to the elevator is also behind the museum.
