Memorial grows for cyclist killed in downtown Vancouver
On Sunday morning, a group of cyclists and Beltrán’s family gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery before setting off on a memorial ride.
“I just started tweeting about it after my husband walked through the intersection shortly after the incident,” said Lucy Maloney, the tribute ride organizer.
“I was very upset because we go through this intersection all the time. I am an advocate for cyclists and other cyclists have contacted me to ask if we will organize a tribute ride. So I contacted the family. »
Cycling advocates would like to see more measures such as speed enforcement and protected bicycle signage.
