• The Walking in Winter Wonderland holiday light show begins Friday at Clearbrook Park in Frederick County and runs through January 2. Closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve. • 25th Annual Shenandoah Potters Guild Holiday Pottery Show, 10 am to 4 pm Saturdays and Sundays, Jim Barnett Park-War Memorial Building, 1001 E. Cork St. Free admission. Wide variety of handmade pottery items available for purchase.

• Thanksgiving weekend tours to the historic Belle Grove Plantation, 10 am to 4 pm Friday and Saturday and 1 pm to 5 pm Sunday. Tours start 15 minutes past the hour. • Independent weekend, Friday and Saturday in downtown Winchester. Benefit from sales, discounts and special promotions in the shops of the old town.

• The Newtown Outdoor Holiday Market is held Saturday 9 am to 2 pm in the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church at the corner of Main and Fairfax streets in Stephens City. Bring your holiday shopping list and find unique, handmade items for everyone.

• Saturday Craft Bazaar for Small Businesses, 8 am to 3 pm Saturdays at West Oaks Farmers Market, 4305 Middle Road, Winchester. Several local craft vendors with a variety of seasonal and holiday gift items. Food and drinks also available.

• Preservation of the historic Bough and Dough Shop in Winchester, 10 am to 5 pm Friday and Saturday, Hexagon House, 530 Amherst St., Winchester. Holiday gift shop featuring handmade items, fresh cut greenery, wreaths and prefabricated bows for your holiday decoration. Free entry. Shopping also available online and for pre-order. • Holiday Craft Show at Brookside Church, 2425 First St., Middletown, 10 am to 2 pm Saturday. Lots of handcrafted items to choose from, as well as soup, sandwiches, and baked goods.

• The Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock are once again hosting Christmas in the Valley this year. The park at the wheel is open from Thursday to Sunday until New Year’s Day. Hours of operation are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Sunday and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Christmas shopping village and carnival will be open from Friday to December 18. Entrance to the park behind the wheel is $ 20 for Friday opening day and Thursday family home evening, and $ 25 every other night. Information: 540-459-3867.
